There are a number of statues or monuments to BP and Scouting around the world, this page will show a few of these and where they are located. We are starting with the United Kingdom and Kenya which is where BP is burried.

United Kingdom

Baden Powell Statue at Poole.

This full length life size sculpture of Robert Baden-Powell, located on the Quay in Poole celebrates B-P's connections with the town of Poole. Situated near the departure point for ferries to Brownsea Island, the sculpture captures Baden-Powell in a seated position as though involved in a typical activity around the camp fire and looks out to where it all began - Brownsea Island. Brownsea Island - First Camp

This stone on Brownsea Island is near the site of the first camp held in 1907 and reads.
This Stone commemorates the experimental camp of 20 boys held on this site from 1st - 9th August 1907 By Robert Baden Powell later Lord Baden Powell of Gilwell, Founder of the Scout and Guide Movement

Humshaugh Cairn

The Humshaugh Cairn located in Northumberland, was constructed in 1929 by a local stonemason to mark the 21st birtday of Scouting on the location of the first "true" Scout Camp held in 1908 called "Look Wide". Intially the only plaque on the ciarn was the one to mark the camp but over the years others were added to as vairous Cheif Scouts visted the site

BP House in London was opened in 1961, is a living memorial to Baden-Powell, and was originally paid for by Scouts around the world. The statue was carved by Dan Potter and is the only granite statue in London

The Ideal Scout - Gilwell Park

Ideal Scout - Gillwell Park

The original of this statue, made in 1937 by R. Tait McKenzie, is outside the Marks Center in Philadelphia, PA, USA, headquarters of the Cradle of Liberty Council, and another copy is at the headquarters of the Boy Scouts of America(BSA) in Irving, Texas. This copy at Gilwell Park was a gift by the BSA to the The Scout Association (then the Boy Scout Association) of Britain in 1966.

Cannon Hill Memorial

At the entrance to Cannon Hill Park in Mosley, Birmingham there is a memorial to the local Scouts who lost their lives during World War I and II. Unfortunatley the Memorial is currently in some need of a bit of TLC, in the way that it is a bit grubby and it is difficult to read the inscription on it.

with "Paxtu" the house he spent his last days in as a National Mouments
